Ideal for adventure tourism and hiking. This hill is home to one of the most important pre-Hispanic archaeological sites on the island, with Taino petroglyphs carved near water sources. Its forested trails are a perfect challenge for mountain biking. It is part of the Cerro Chacuey Forest Reserve, the largest protected area in the Dajabón province at 51.89 km², encompassing humid forests and various water sources. The area includes the historic Ceremonial Plaza of the Indians and petroglyphs declared a National Monument by Law 452-69, considered ancient Taino astronomical observation points.
It is recommended to make the tour during the dry season and to have a local guide to facilitate access to the carvings.
